Books and clothes. That is the whole catalogue — for now.
Exam notes, novels, lehengas, formals. Every listing you see has already been checked by our team. We will add more categories when we can review them the same way.
Most Rented This Month
Books and clothes renters are actually booking — after staff approval.
What you can actually rent today
Two categories. Both checked by people. Nothing else is live yet.
Books
Exam weeks and reading lists should not mean a cupboard of one-season books. Hosts list physical copies they own. We look at cover photos, a few inside pages, and whether the listing is actually a book — not a pirated PDF. Highlighted copies are fine if the host says so. Photocopied course packs sold as originals are not.
- NCERT Class 11–12 set — from ₹40/day
- JEE / NEET module pack — from ₹60/day
- UPSC current-affairs notes — from ₹50/day
- Paperback novels & children's books — from ₹25/day
Clothes
One-day outfits are the other thing Indian homes already share well. Photograph front, back, and any stain. Put the real size in the description. Dry-clean before handover when the garment is meant to be worn as-is. Listings that are not clothing, or that belong in a category we have not opened, are rejected.
- Wedding lehenga / sherwani — from ₹800/day
- Office formals & bandhgala — from ₹400/day
- Festive ethnic wear — from ₹350/day
- Kids' occasion outfits — from ₹150/day
Not yet — and we will say so here
Trust breaks when the catalogue is bigger than the review team. We will add a category only when KYC and listing approval can stay human. Until then, if an ad or an old screenshot suggests a wider shop, this page is the source of truth: books and clothes.
- Cameras, drones, and lighting — later
- Tools, tents, and vehicles — later
- Furniture and baby gear — later
- Anything else — only when we can review it
Why Rent by Category?
Two categories is not a small vision. It is a review capacity we can actually staff. A textbook set for three weeks of revision, or a lehenga for one wedding, is a clear need. A “rent anything” board is a classifieds site we refuse to become while KYC and listings are still checked by hand.
Filters help you find the right edition, size, or city. Trust still sits on the host: KYC done by a person, listing photos approved by a person, money in escrow, reviews that stay on the profile. Safety tools (photos, deposits, disputes) sit under that — they are not a substitute for it.
When we can review another category the same way, we will say so on this page, in Terms, and in the app — not by quietly widening the catalogue. Category suggestions are welcome at hello@gorent.in. We will not pretend they are live until they are.
